Chaining clips into a longer sequence

Since a single clip only runs a limited number of seconds, chaining lets you extend a scene by reusing the last frame of one clip as the starting image of the next.

1. Generate a first clip

Render a clip in Create a video (with or without a starting image) or in Transition, then look at the result panel under the preview.

2. Press Next shot

Click "Next shot (from this frame)." tendre.red extracts the clip's last frame and sets it as the new starting image, ready for the next generation.

3. Name your sequence

The first time you chain or add a clip to a sequence, a dialog asks for a sequence name and a parent folder. tendre.red files the clip there, renamed 01_name, then 02_name and so on as you keep going.

4. Prompt the next beat

Write a new prompt in the Motion field describing what happens next. The identity and setting carry over automatically since the new clip starts from the previous one's last frame.

5. Repeat, or add out of order

Repeat Next shot for each new beat. Use "Add to sequence" instead if you want to file a clip into the same folder without chaining forward from it. You can also import an external video and continue from its last frame directly.
