Local Pro mode versus Cloud Starter mode

tendre.red opens on a mode picker: Starter, a single prompt box that renders entirely in the cloud, or Pro, the full app with characters, LoRA training, and local generation on your own GPU.

Pro mode (local)

Pro uses your NVIDIA GPU (RTX 20 series or newer, 8 GB VRAM minimum) to generate images for free, with no per-image cost and no license required to start. Video runs on a separate engine, LTX 2.3: install it locally from the Components tab (about 30 GB, keeps downloading in the background while you use the app), also for free, unlimited 5 to 20 second clips with native sound, no license needed either. Until you install it, video renders through the cloud engine instead. A license adds consistent characters (LoRA-trained identity across scenes) on top of everything local, plus cloud generation and credits for when you are away from your GPU.

Starter mode (cloud)

Starter is the simple onboarding screen, one prompt field with an image or video toggle, nothing to install. Generation runs on tendre.red's servers, or automatically on your own GPU instead if a local engine is already installed on that machine. Without a license you get a limited free trial for cloud generation; with a license, cloud generation draws from your credit balance instead. Turning an uploaded photo into a new image or an animated clip is reserved for license holders in both modes.

Switching between modes

Pro and Starter live in the same install. The Components tab is also where Pro users add engines skipped during setup: image checkpoints, the LTX 2.3 video engine, or the InstantID character pack.

Buying credits

A tendre.red license is a one-time purchase and comes with 200 free cloud credits, about 100 five-second videos (1 credit per image, 2 credits per 5-second video).
